Real Talk: Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

The best way to figure out how to do something is to do it. Make the commitment to make it happen, and you'll start working your way through the details. Don't get bogged down speculating on how something will come about. Instead, get started on the best approach you have, and follow the path wherever it may lead. When traveling along a road, you can never see the entire road at once, but that doesn't really matter. What does matter is successfully making your way through the portion of the road that is right in front of you. Work through the things that are to be done right now, and you'll put yourself in position to handle the things that come along later. Travel down this section of the road, and you'll then be able to travel the next section, and the next. If you put all your energy into worrying about every little detail of how to reach your goal, you won't ever get started. Instead, put your energy into reminding yourself why you have chosen to go there, and then do whatever it takes along the way. You'll never know precisely how something is to be done until you actually do it. So go ahead, get started, and discover your own unique pathway to achievement.

Foot Candy: Charlotte Olympia

Hot new footwear label Charlotte Olympia is the brainchild of Cordwainers graduate and London IT girl Charlotte Olympia Dellal. The half-Brazilian, half-English designer is inspired by the glamour of the 40s and 50s and her statement making block color sandals and quirky-cool shoe boots are already a hit with style setters Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.

When I saw The Charlotte Olympia Ziggy leather ankle boots ($995) I feel instantly in love. This boot combines a suede leather-upper with a a tassel zipped back, 5.5 in. patent leather heels, and a red trimmed 1 in. gold tone floating platform with a gold tone spider web on the sole.

All I can say is... HELLO LOVAHHHH!!!!

Up & Coming: Melody Ehsani

You probably know Melody Ehsani  without even knowing her.  Her ubiquitous line of accessories caters to the bold, sexy, fierce and fearless women, so it’s no wonder that you can find her pieces all over the scene, from Rhianna, to Erykah Badu, to Keri Hilson.  Yes, those rings that turned you on in Miss Keri’s “Turnin’ Me On” video were done by Melody, who is one of the artist’s favorite designers.  She’s quickly becoming the favorite of many, in and out of the limelight.  Actually, Melody’s creative uses of bright plastics, shiny mirrors, chunky chains, and wild designs deserve their own time to shine!  If that’s not enough, this powerhouse designer started off by creating a bad-ass line of ladies shoes, and she still keeps it coming.  Melody Ehsani’s got it locked.

Although her looks go for the bold, her approach to life and her line is quite humbling, creating a divine balance between art and artist.  Melody taps into her strength as a woman to push boundaries and go for the unconventional, ultimately unleashing the same powers in those that don her products.

Without any further ado, I preset you with Final Frontier by Melody Ehsani: Accessories Lookbook, Fall 2009
